Title: "The Gray Dress Syndrome"
Author: Ani-LookUpDown
Disclaimer: Skye Chandler Quartermaine does not belong to me, or any other character mentioned in this story.
Time of Events: About a year after the 2001 Christmas episode.

I can't believe I'm doing this. Standing here in my bedroom closet contemplating wearing the gray dress. When Rae first suggested me wearing it to help catch Jax's attention, I didn't take her seriously. Well at least I thought I didn't. It seems like every time there's a chance of me running into Jax socially, I find myself reaching for the gray dress. The last time I wore it Jax couldn't keep his eyes off of me and the same could be said for a few other men in the room. I can't believe I caught Sonny Corinthos staring with his tongue hanging out. Yuck.

I'm not going to wear it. I won't.

I've worn it enough times trying to make a statement or to grab someone's attention. The gray dress syndrome ends today. Besides, this celebratory dinner Dad's throwing for me at the Grill, is all about me. I am the new CEO of ELQ, whose first year at the helm has exceeded everyone's expectations, including my own. This night is not about some man or grabbing attention; it's all about me. How often does that happen? It's like next to never.

Okay, so here I go.

The red off the shoulder dress.

The ever so reliable little black dress.

The classic navy dress that would look plain if it wasn't for the not so subtle slit at the side.

The black and white Julia Robert's Oscar Day look-alike dress.

The green and gold Egyptian style dress.

Gray dress with a V neckline and a fitted bodice that looks amazing on my body instead of on that unappreciative clothes hanger.

Oh well, I tried. I guess it will be the gray dress again.

Note to self, first thing Saturday morning, I'm going shopping. I've got to get a few dresses that are more mesmerizing than this gray dress. I'm going to break the gray dress syndrome, if it's the last thing I do.

The End.

Note to Reader: When I read other Skye fans comments about that gray dress, I couldn't resist telling a story about it. I found Rae and Skye's Christmas episode conversation wonderful and this story is due to that. *Remember, feedback is always welcome.
